Eric was multitasking. He'd already finished some of his homework, but others were still lingering. There was a paper for Divination that he'd been avoiding, so instead of putting it off for another afternoon, he'd locked himself away in the library. The multitasking part came in when he was alone in the stacks. As he thumbed through a book, looking for something to add to his paper, Eric couldn't stop his feet from moving to music that could only be heard in his own mind. He was humming, too, but mostly moving.
He was actively reading as well, learning about ancient divination techniques and the ways in which they had evolved over the years. It was interesting stuff, and he actually enjoyed learning about it. Eric thumbed another page over and kept nodding his head along to silent music. He put one foot behind the other and twirled around to head back to his seat, nearly knocking himself into someone.
"Bloody hell!" He called out in surprise. Eric laughed and slapped a hand to his chest. "Gave me a fright! Sorry about that." His heart was beating so hard, he'd barely had time to register if he knew the person or not.

Potions it always had to be potions, she was really sick of that class. Not to mention the fact that a cousin of her's was teaching it. It was like even here she was surrounded by her mother's family. She didn't need her mom trying to come back in her life, she was fine out of it. So she'd gone to the library to read up on it.
Though much good reading would do her, yeah it'd be in head and she could pull it out later on. But that didn't mean it was going to work. So she had one end of the table covered with potions books. And was in the process of putting one back to grab another when someone almost ran into her.
Course she spouted someting off in spanish really fast cause well she had been upset about it, people needed to pay attention and they wondered why accidents happened. But she'd also dropped the book that she had been holding. She shrugged as she bent down to grab her book, "No problem."

Eric didn't understand the Spanish, but knew the tone well enough to recognize that it wasn't so easy to brush off. He gave a sheepish smile and rubbed the back of his neck. "Really am sorry." He caught the title on the spine of her book. "Potions, hmm?" He glanced over her shoulder and saw a table covered in more of them. "Wow. Big project already?" He was surprised, but maybe she was getting a leg up? He'd seen her around and she seemed old enough to be his year, but he couldn't place a name to her face.
"Eric Morris." He offered his name, "Just so you don't go around calling me 'that bumbling idiot' or something equally clever." He grinned and held out a hand. "Let me lug that book back to your table. Least I can do."

Ceara had seen him around actually knew a little bit about him jsut from hearsay. Still she offered a small smile, "Not a problem." Course she really wanted to tell him jsut where to go but she had decided to work on her attitude. "No on the project mroe like trying to keep from failing." Yeah, potions wasn't her best subject in fact she barely squeaked by sometimes. Why she was still in the class she didn't know. Some curel joke maybe.
"Ceara Danvers." Course she had been thinking to call him something but she wasn't going to tell him that. She took he hand since it was only polite. Before handing him the book, "Alright but you don't have to."
Yeah she really didn't know what else considering she really didn't talk to people much.

Eric beamed and tucked the book under his arm, "Of course I don't have to. But I want to. That's the difference." He just couldn't help himself but to be friendly sometimes. He squeezed past her to get out of the stacks and headed for the table he assumed was hers - the one covered in other potions books. He looked over his shoulder at her and gave her a quizzical look.
"Need help with the homework?" He offered, "I'm not great at potions, but I get by." He could use the break from his own coursework, truth be told. Eric liked helping people and getting to know strangers. It was part of what he loved about Hogwarts - so many different types of people. He was surprised that he hadn't meant Ceara before, but perhaps they'd just always run in different circles.

Ceara raised an eyebrow at him, well he had manners. She would give that still most people didn't do things because they wanted to. They did it because they wanted something in return. Friendly for the sake of Friendly wasn't in Ceara's vocabulary.
She glanced at the table then back at him, why not couldn't help could it. Though she was still excepting him to want something in return. But really if anything she could just use him. Her dad had defintely worked on her when she was little. "I guess so cause I'm terrible with it." Though something told her that this year was going to be different than the others.
