Scott had a morning class - Transfiguration to be precise, but that didn't mean he'd gotten up for it. At least, not every morning - and today was one of those mornings in which nothing in the world was going to wake him before lunch. Scott had finally managed to roll out of bed around noon, when his dorm mates came filing back from classes. Andrew knocked him on the head and told him to come down for lunch, if he could drag his lazy arse out of bed for that long. Scott only groaned, but did manage to get himself up and dressed.

By the time he'd stumbled into the Great Hall, most of his mates had wandered off to their next class. Luckily, he wasn't running late for his afternoon course yet, but that didn't mean he'd go. Though, it was Herbology and he did have a good time in there most days. Scott sat himself at the nearest bench, not caring what house it was meant for, since no one was sitting anywhere near his spot anyway. He loved the magic of the Great Hall. Anything you could possibly want? Scott was in dire need of a ham sandwich and the hall was only happy to comply.

Chewing happily, he absently brushed a few rogue strands of hair out of his eyes. He was still a bit groggy and not paying any attention. He noticed someone sit by him but didn't look up to see who it was. He only grunted his acknowledgment of another human being near him.

"Oh, sod all!" Harper groaned and cursed to herself. She'd been plowed into, again, by someone who hadn't seen her, and her already heavy shoulder bag was knocked down past her hand and onto the floor. Luckily no contents were spilled, but having to lean down and pick the bloody thing up again was a chore in and of itself. She grunted as she hoisted it back onto her shoulder, nearly knocking herself over in the process. "Damn thing's heavier than I am." Muttering to herself, she wandered into the Great Hall. Ten classes for her last term was a bad idea, she was beginning to find. At least she'd get to sit and eat.

Looking around, she groaned again. No Eric, No Shawn. It looked like Harper would, once again, be eating with the other Quidditch kids, or by herself. A second sweep of the room and she spotted a familiar, messy head. Her heart skipped a beat and her appetite flipped with her stomach, removing her hunger temporarily as she approached. After all these years, knowing him for so long, she'd thought that maybe those initial butterflies would be bloody well over with. But, as usual, Scott made everything about the girl's normal patterns of behaviors turn up on themselves. Tentatively, she plopped her bag down and sidled up on the bench next to him. Appetite still on the fritz, all that popped up for her was a glass of pumpkin juice, which she promptly downed.

"Hiya, Scotty." Her voice was a tad bit less steady and firm than she intended it to be, but she hadn't put much thought behind blurting the greeting, either. Harper ran her finger around the rim of her glass nervously, looking over at him. He'd obviously just woken up. He was cute all groggy like that.

"What?" Scott lifted his head and glanced to the person next to him, the person that seemed to know him. He recognized Harper and gave her a half smile. "Oh. Hey, Harper." Scott returned to his sandwich but turned himself slightly towards her so that he wasn't outright ignoring her. Lunch was of main importance to him at the moment. He barely noticed Harper's odd behavior, and even if he had, he'd just have chalked it up to one of Harper's odd moods.

"Not hungry?" He said, noticing she only had a glass of pumpkin juice. As he spoke, a plate of chocolate chip cookies appeared, per his desire. He grabbed one and pushed the plate towards her. "Have one, yeah?" Scott grabbed a glass of milk and drank half of it in one gulp. He swallowed, belched, and sighed. Manners weren't exactly his strong suit. He glanced down and saw her bag nearly bulging with books. Wiping his mouth slowly, Scott was almost upset with himself for missing class. The feeling passed quickly. "Classes goin' alright?"

She fussed with the hem of her skirt for a moment, looking at him out of the corner of her eye. He must've been awfully hungry to inhale the sandwich the way he did. A small chuckle escaped under her breath. Everything about him enthralled her - even the weirder, less appealing quirks. Harper pushed some stringy stray hairs out of her face and forced them to hook behind her ear; they were getting in the way of looking at him, and she didn't think it was too nice to sit there with her face all covered by hair, anyway.

"N-no, not really.." she said, "I mean, I was, but not anymore.. Lost my appetite I think." Harper, blunt as she was, always seemed to stumble all over herself when it involved Scott. And he never seemed to get why, even if she put it right in front of his nose. She figured he'd never really notice her. Nobody did - why would he be the exception? A blush spread over her cheeks and she smiled, slowly taking a cookie. "Thanks for sharing," she smiled and nibbled at it, and as she did so, a plate with a nice looking chicken caesar popped up. Apparently, cookies from Scott worked as a jump-start for her appetite. "Hey, would you look at that."

Harper laughed when he belched, shaking her head slightly. She bit her bottom lip and rolled it between her teeth, tilting her head at him. She stuck her fork into her salad and shoved a bite into her mouth, chewing it and washing it down before answering him. "Yeah," she said, sighing deeply. "But it'll be the death of me before end of term. You?" Subtly, she scooted closer to him. "You excited about graduation..?"

"Not quite." He said, tossing the last bit of cookie into his mouth. "What's the word? Oh yeah, bloody terrified." He scoffed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Bit afraid that my marks won't be high enough to actually pass." He didn't seem too worried about it, really - only vaguely. He looked at her and gave a little smile and a shrug, "I'll get on alright. Always do." And by that, he meant squeaking by with barely passing marks. Another glass appeared, this one filled with pumpkin juice. He took a big swig from it before leaning against the table.

"What about you? Career lined up? Whole future ahead of you?" Scott sounded a little bitter. He'd always imagined his friends getting out of school and landing themselves into posh jobs right away. No matter what he did, though, he couldn't manage to think of himself in the same position.

"Oh, hey." He jumped topics quick since his brain was still waking up. "You looked good at the last quidditch match. Bang up job there at the end." He grinned before taking another drink.

"You'll pass just fine," she smiled encouragingly. "You have every other year. Do you need any help?" Harper, if only he asked her, would do all of Scott's assignments for him in a heartbeat just to make sure that he didn't have anything to worry about. Admitting this to herself was scary. "I'd be more than happy to get together sometime, if you'd like." She took another bite of her salad and smiled with her mouth closed, chewing and swallowing. It was delicious. She took another drink of pumpkin juice and raised her eyebrows at him, her eyes growing a bit wider.

"Me?" Harper chuckled and shook her head. "I'm clueless, just like the rest of the population. I've gone over all of my options time and again, and nothing really speaks to me. I thought about Professional Quidditch most, but really... It just doesn't appeal to me enough. I love flying, I love the game - but doing that for the rest of my life? Hardly exciting, and being in the public eye like that, having my every move splashed across the front page of the Prophet - you know how they are... That's not for me, not for me at all. I've got absolutely no idea what I'm going to do. Bust my arse for seven bloody years and still have nothin' to show for it." She hadn't meant to talk so much. She only hoped that his eyes hadn't glazed over.

She could tell that he was bothered by the fact that the people around him were solid. Harper gave him a small smile. "You'll figure it out eventually, I'm sure. Just - I mean..." she stumbled again. "If you ever need someone to talk to and Shawn's all tied up..." Trailing off, she shrugged her shoulders and gave him a small smile before shoving another bite of her salad into her mouth. She needed something to keep her from talking his ear off. Or, say, blabbing something stupid.

Blinking, her eyes got a little wider and her eyebrows stretched farther up. "Hmm?" She gulped down her food and polished off the end of her pumpkin juice. 'You looked good...' Harper knew there was more to it than that, but those words coming from him, to her, made her stomach flip and flutter. Another glass of pumpkin juice showed up, and her plate disappeared. Her appetite was, once again, gone. "Yea?" she grinned, "Enjoyed the game then?" Rolling her bottom lip between her teeth, she gave him a lopsided smile. "Glad you were there to watch. I always feel better when yo-oooou guys are there supporting us. Especially since we're not even in your house."

Scott hated even thinking about post-graduation. His father was constantly sending him howlers, awful red things screeching at him to figure his future out, and fast. He hated the bloody things, but if he didn't open them, his dad always seemed to know and only sent twice as many after a few days. It had only been a month, but already Scott was tired of all the long-distance lectures he was receiving. There hadn't been an owl sent his way today, though, which meant today was a good day.

"Great lot of seventh years we are." He scoffed and took another drink. "Can't even figure out a career between us." This conversation was depressing. And in true Scott fashion, instead of dealing with a problem when it got too sticky, he just shoved it aside and acted as if it didn't exist at all. Quidditch was much easier to chat about. He gave her a lopsided sort of grin. "You know you're brilliant up there. Don't act so surprised." He lightly knocked his shoulder against hers.

"Finish up, will yeah? I got about an hour before class and I don't want to spend it cooped up in here. Let's go find something to do."

"I'm pretty sure we're allowed to be directionless at this point, champ," Harper muttered through a drink, "All that young-adults-finding-themselves crap. My dad tells me about it all the time. Might be a Muggle thing." She looked over at him and cracked a grin, running her tongue along her teeth. Laughing, her head moved to nod downward, and she peeked at him out of the corner of her eye. The blush on her cheeks wasn't easy to hide anymore. "Thanks. I try." She shoved back playfully.

Harper chugged the last of her pumpkin juice and quirked a brow. "Alright, alright. I've got somethin' in my belly now," she patted said belly happily, no longer hungry. "Where did you have in mind?" She swung her legs over the bench seat and hopped to her feet, saving the dreaded bag for last. "What shenanigans can we get into, you and me, Scotty?"

Scott jumped up and grabbed his (significantly lighter) bag. He'd have Herbology later, which was almost tolerable (considering he was in the advanced class). But that wasn't for awhile yet, and he figured there had to be something he and Harper could do to kill the time. Unfortunately, his mind went pretty blank. Just standing there dumbly, Scott tried to think of something.

"Alright, uhm-" He shifted slightly, looking in another direction, "We could. Uhm." He snapped his fingers and turned back to Harper with a triumphant smile, "We could- Oh, I lost it." His face fell, disappointed.

She laughed a little at how he was coming up with... absolutely nothing. Jack shit. Harper thought his absentmindedness was absolutely adorable. "There are like a thousand different options, really. It's not too cold today, if you wanted to go traipse around by the lake or something. Or Quidditch pitch. Anywhere outside, really. Honestly startin' to feel a little too..." she wiggled her fingers and wrinkled her nose. "Cooped."

She nodded toward the exit and wandered that way, groaning at the weight of her back. "Jesus," she grunted, "Bloody thing." She pulled out her wand for a minute and fired a featherlight charm at the damn thing. A happy sigh followed. "Effin' bag was bloody heavier that me." Harper smiled as they walked, and looked around outside of the doors. "Alright, point in a direction, and we'll figure it out from there?"
