11/13/08 03:00 PM New Elective Offered at Hogwarts -- Open Forum to be held to explain by Fletcher Borrow

It seems that Hogwarts will be holding an open forum to discuss the addition of the newest elective offered for sixth and seventh years: Animagus Study and Training. While the class does not guarantee a mastery over the skill of becoming an Animagus, there is much promise of students gaining a better appreciation for the art, as well as the opportunity to dispel myths surrounding the ability.

The class will be taught by Fletcher Borrow, ex quidditch player for the Fitchburg Finches and self-proclaimed Animagi enthusiast.

Students and professors are all welcome to attend. The forum will be held in the Great Hall just after the last period of the day (ooc: no day listed since its just kinda... whenever)

So you want to be an Animagus?

11/02/08 10:57 AM Quidditch Pre-Game Results! by Air Strega

The kids have been waiting for this moment since they stepped onto Hogwarts grounds, but it has finally arrived. Today, all four houses faced off in a randomly chosen match set up to determine just who would play the first official game of the season. First up for the day was Slytherin and Hufflepuff.

This was a very close match up for the majority of the game, Slytherin Captain, Evangeline Faolan leading her pack while keeping a close eye out for the snitch to be released. Slytherin Beater Taeyenne Jensen took a nasty spill when her flight path was intercepted by Hufflepuff Chaser Luke Anderson. Anderson did not appear to purposely knock the girl off her broom, but the slightest clip can cause even the best of fliers to go down for the count. Jensen is reported to have a concussion, but no broken bones. Slytherin Beater Murdoc Reid appeared displeased at Anderson's actions, purposeful or not, and took out his aggression on the younger Huffleuff Chaser. A bludger was reported to have been sent with great force towards Anderson, with aim so true that the most reliable of sources say they swear they saw it strike him right in the nose. Needless to say, Anderson took a tumble himself, but being so close to the goal posts cause him to knock his head against the structures on the way down.

In all the commotion, the snitch was released, and true to her reputation, Slytherin Seeker and Captain, Evangeline Faolan was quick to fly to the scene and take what she has always deemed rightfully hers. The final score of this exciting game:

Slytherin: 310
Hufflepuff: 170

((OOC - Take a look to see what damage your character has taken during the game. This is on a scale of 1-10, 1 being barely sore and 10 being royally screwed))

==========

Next on the day's agenda was the exciting match up between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw. These two teams looked quite revved up for the day's match, and after watching the other two houses duke it out, the tension was high.

The game began slow, both teams trying to size one another up. Gryffindor Chaser, Madeleine Price took initiative to get the team in the spirit by scoring the first two goals of the game. Ravenclaw Captain Elizabeth Stallwalk countered with three goals of her own. Ravenclaw Chaser Henry Wilson was on the move to attempt to score a goal of his own, but the quaffle was snatched away by Gryffindor Chaser Tobias Ward. Wilson took off after his opponent at a breakneck pace without so much as a warning to even his fellow teammates. Gryffindor Beater Aislin Miller tried to aide her teammate Ward by placing herself in Wilson's path, assuming that he would fly around and give Ward precious seconds necessary to attempt to score. Wilson had other plans, however, and went through Miller rather than around. Miller was tossed from her broom and is reported to have a minor head injury coupled with a broken leg. Gryffindor Captain and Beater, Jasper Whitlock was quick on his feet (broom?) to swing around and make a dive for Wilson. Bludgers were flying in the commotion of the game and as two were headed back for Whitlock, he managed to swing and aim both for Wilson. The skill and timing executed managed to juggle the Ravenclaw Chaser in the air before allowing him to tumble to the ground. Wilson is reported to have been knocked unconscious. We are still waiting for news that he has woken.

Meanwhile, Ravenclaw Keeper Kiltrea Allis was thrown back into her goal post by an overly ambitious Gryffindor Chaser Tobias Ward. Allis suffered a nasty gash to the back of her head but continued to play through the injury. Ravenclaw Beater Odette Avery went to help her teammate by standing guard at the goal posts, but when there are too many cooks in the kitchen, something is bound to go wrong. Avery was too eager while Allis was lagging in her reaction time. The two girls went to guard the same post, colliding and sending both Avery and Allis to the ground. Ravenclaw Beater Juliet Mitchell attempted to rush to block the goal, but only managed to lose sight of the bludger that had been trailing her. The bludger knocked her in the back of the head, causing her to flip off her broom and land on top of her two teammates.

While all of this was going on, Gryffindor was on the look out for the snitch. Ravenclaw Captain and Seeker, Elizabeth Stallwalk was concerned for her teammates and distracted from catching sight of the snitch. Gryffindor Seeker, Joscelind Pruitt made a dive and grabbed the elusive ball, ending the game with a final score of:

Gryffindor: 230
Ravenclaw: 160

10/25/08 01:16 PM Check Out Our Shiny New....Portal Box! by Childe of Night

Hey guys, Childe again. I wanted to bring your attention to the box labeled 'London Time/Moon Phase' on the right side of your screen. The time meter ticking away in red is the current time in London. Below that, you will notice the current moon phase, with a clock that has your time on it.

This is just for fun, but we also thought that some of you might like to use it to aid you in game-play. (Some Garou and Vampires as well as HP-style werewolves may find the moon phase feature useful, for example...)

***Note: Your game-play is not limited by the London time clock. If you want to start a thread at midnight walking down Diagon Alley in the middle of the day, you can do it, and you do not have to wait for it to actually be daytime in London. Continue to play as you normally would--just know that the new feature is there, should you choose to use it.

Happy posting, RPers!
