Return to Vampire the Masquerade or Continue to Camarilla Merits and Flaws, Clan-Specific Merits and Flaws, General Merits and Flaws, Sabbat Merits and Flaws
Note: Left off on Malkavian Merits and Flaws - List Incomplete
Kindred (or Cainites) have, by far, the most extensive list of merits and flaws out of all character types. As a result, it's nigh impossible to include every single merit and flaw. Some may have been omitted because they worked better on the General Merits and Flaws list while others may have simply been overlooked. Even further, there are some Clan-Specific Merits and Flaws that have been omitted because they just don't fit properly in general forum roleplay. Should you have a clanbook and wish to play a merit or flaw out of it that happens not to be available in this list, please exercise common sense when deciding if it is appropriate for forum play. Some of those that were left out are ties-based, meaning they can easily be played with NPC usage of your own or from the admins; those merits and flaws are often omitted because there's no concise way to explain them without simply copying the canon description from the books (and that's bad). Also keep in mind that you don't have to be Camarilla to take Camarilla Merits and Flaws or Sabbat to take Sabbat Merits and Flaws, but some of those just wouldn't work interchanged between sects. (A non-defector Camarillan will not have flashbacks of Creation Rites and a Sabbat won't be an Elysium regular.) Clan merits and flaws, however, are almost always only for the specific clan, with the exception of the more-generic ones such as Obvious Predator.
Mental Merits
Calm Heart
You have serenity on your side, making it easier to resist frenzy. Brujah cannot take this merit.
Code of Honor
You have a code of ethics which you follow as closely as possible. It is easier for you to act in accordance to your code or avoid a situation that would force you to break the code. As such, your will strengthens when dealing with said cases. Please specify what your code is. Sabbat Paths of Enlightenment do not count under this merit.
Light Sleeper
At the first sign of trouble, you stir from sleep, giving you the upper hand when needing to escape some form of daytime trouble. After stirring, you will not be sleepy.
Time Sense
You always know the exact time, give or take only a few seconds. True Brujah needn't take this merit, as Temporis' most basic function is the same.

Physical Merits
Blush of Health
Unlike the typical vampire, you have retained the healthy colour of mortal flesh and are only slightly cool to the touch.
Eat Food
Though it does not provide any nourishment, you can consume - and even enjoy the taste of - food. This food, however, cannot be digested. At some point during the night, you will need to force it back up... preferably out of the sight of mortals (should you care about the Masquerade). The aftermath is not pretty.
Efficient Digestion
Blood is more nourishing for you than it is for most other vampires. You do not need to take as much blood from those you bite in order to get your fill.
Enchanting Voice
Something about your voice captures the attention of others - in a good way. You find it easier to persuade, charm, or command others. This does not, of course, mean you automatically succeed in such efforts.

Daywalker
With the Daywalker merit, a vampire will be able to walk about in the sunlight during the day. However, the vampire will need to spend blood to keep him/herself from burning up and therefor must consume more blood to keep themselves alive. In addition, any vampire with the Daywalker merit MUST take the flaw Silver Vulnerability. If a vampire with the Daywalker merit embraces a character in game, there is a 50/50 chance that the new vampire will also have the Daywalker merit. This will be rolled for by administrators and the decision will be final.

Short Fuse
You find it more difficult to resist frenzy than other vampires do. Since the difficulty (+2) is the same as the Brujah's clan flaw requires, this cannot be taken by a Brujah. See the clan-specific listing for the flaw to make a Brujah's frenzy difficulty higher.

Physical Flaws
14th Generation
You were Embraced five or fewer years ago (obviously, your sire had to be of the 13th generation). It is highly likely that you are a Caitiff, as your blood might be too thin to carry the distinguishing traits of your clan. You cannot utilize your vitae as efficiently as other vampires, you are likely to be hunted by the Camarilla's Scourge, and to expect to gain status would be laughable at best. In other words: you're screwed. Most vampires of the 14th generation also have the Thin Blood flaw.

Monstrous
Something went wrong during your Embrace, twisting your physical form to reflect the Beast within. You appear to be a savage monster (appearance rating of 0), and even Nosferatu have trouble interacting with you. This flaw cannot be taken by Nosferatu, as their clan flaw is too similar.

#Vulnerability to Silver
Vulnerability to Silver
If you have taken the DAYWALKER merit, you MUST take this flaw for your character to be approved. This is not a simple silver allergy. Although sunlight may not cause damage to a daywalker like it would a normal vampire, daywalkers MUST have the vulnerability to silver merit for their character to be accepted. Any contact with silver, even the simple touch of it, would burn the skin just as fire would. Over-exposure could (and yes, eventually would) be fatal to a daywalker. Vampires who do not wish to take the daywalker merit may still take this flaw. As always, be sure to explain it in your bio as best as you can.
